Sewtec has been named as ‘one to watch’ in one of the world’s largest and longest running business competitions, the European Business Awards.
Shortlisted for the ‘digital technology award’ for companies with a turnover of up to €25m, this sees us recognised as one of the most “inspirational, successful and dynamic in Europe”.
Now in its 12th year, the 2018 European Business Awards received more than 111,000 entries from businesses across 34 countries.
In the next round of judging, Sewtec competes to become a UK national winner before taking part in a gala final this December where the final 18 European winners are announced.
This Europe-wide accolade comes shortly after we announced our turnover has more than doubled to a record £28m with EBITDA of £9m, as a result of an ongoing transformation strategy.
Announcing the shortlisting, European Business Awards’ CEO, Adrian Tripp, said: “The companies chosen as ‘Ones to Watch’ are the most inspirational, successful and dynamic in Europe.
“The talent and tenacity at the heart of these businesses creates jobs and drives Europe’s prosperity. This ‘Ones to Watch’ list of excellence is a benchmark of success for the rest of the European business community.”
Our latest recognition follows recent successes including a shortlisting for the Lloyds Bank Exporter of the Year Award.
We also achieved a gold EcoVadis rating, setting us among the top four per cent of the world’s most sustainable automation companies.
Commenting on Sewtec’s shortlisting, managing director Mark Cook added: “Sewtec’s transformation strategy has got real momentum and we’re very proud to have this recognised at a European level. Our sales and profits are growing at pace and our people have embraced our ambitious expansion plans. We look forward to the national awards later this year.”
