Challenge
When legal product traceability compliance was introduced to the tobacco industry in the early 2000s, Sewtec recognised the need to improve track and trace systems.
Invention
Working with many OEMs, with whom Sewtec had already established a long-term partnership over a fifteen-year period, we successfully developed premium quality engineered package handling systems. These automated machines would integrate with existing systems to form a highly efficient track and trace system for production lines working to a 24/7 schedule.
Results
This development demonstrates our strength to engineer robust tobacco coding and tracking solutions into live production lines reliant on optimum efficiency. Our ability to design, develop and commission the software and data-handling elements of this type of system means it can interface seamlessly with our customer’s existing IT and business software systems.
