Project Manager

Sewtec is seeking a new project manager in Yorkshire to work on exciting bespoke automation solutions for globally recognised brands.

You’ll be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of all aspects of project delivery, such as liaising with customers, capturing customer requirements, supporting the project team and working in partnership with your colleagues to deliver on our commitments. Preparing project briefs, project management plans (PMP), schedules and budgets will also be high on your agenda.

Keeping an eye on costs will be an integral part of this project manager role. You’ll prepare and present project financial data such as accurate budgeting and forecast updates, and cost to complete (CTC) and final cost at completion (FCAC) documents. To support the wider Sewtec team, you’ll work alongside our technical and sales staff during the quotation phase to help create proposals and build estimates on pricing.

As project manager, tracking and monitoring progress of all allocated projects in terms of time, cost and quality will sit under your remit. You’ll also oversee the management of project resource demand and levelling through accurate representation of the project demand in the business forecasting system. Reporting, raising and escalating project issues in a timely manner to ensure our precision engineering work is completed to the highest standard will be on your to-do list.

We’re always looking to take our levels of innovation to the next level, so you need to keep abreast of sector developments identifying any future opportunities. To help you develop our operations, you’ll possess and build on your significant level of knowledge of general engineering, automation solutions, project management and customer satisfaction.

For this role, it’s essential you have a strong understanding of project management methodology and you must have a background in engineering – this can be either through time served in employment or through formal qualifications. You’ll possess the minimum of a HNC qualification in a relevant electrical or mechanical engineering discipline, and holding a project management qualification is also highly desired.

Working on bespoke automation solutions means two days are never the same at Sewtec, so you need to be willing to roll your sleeves up and get stuck into any challenge. Being able to work as part of a team and on your own is a must, as is having a strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
