Reporting in to the project director, Sewtec is looking to hire a new mechanical fitter to join our world-leading bespoke automation solutions company.
Working with the wider team, you’ll be tasked with interpreting engineering drawings to assemble special purpose machinery from scratch for our clients. As mechanical fitter, you’ll also be hands on when it comes to the installation of machinery at our customers’ premises and will be able to identify how to approach the build through the interpretation of GA drawings.
Ensuring you’re adhering to high standards of health and safety, operating hand tools, equipment, and lifting machinery will be part of your day-to-day work to assemble our bespoke machines and relevant parts. You’ll learn our policies and procedures to ensure you’re compliant with the management systems required for the environment and quality.
As a mechanical fitter, you’ll be competent and confident in all technical aspects of mechanical engineering – something which you’ll have gained within a similar precision engineering role. Experience of working within a multi–skilled environment (i.e. knowledge of electrical and pneumatic components) is a must for this role, and you’ll be capable of working to tight timescales to ensure our bespoke automation solutions are completed on time and to a high standard.
To be the perfect fit, you’ll live and breathe the values of Sewtec. You’ll be enthusiastic, innovatively-minded and willing to throw yourself into any challenge. Working in an environment where no two days are the same, having the passion to roll your sleeves up and help solve problems is a must. To ensure we’re working efficiently, you’ll also have great communications skills – holding discussions with other members of our team and with our clients.
