FILLED: Head of Sales

Sewtec is seeking a highly-motivated head of sales who will help deliver our strategic and operational sales activity in line with our business growth, through existing customers and by securing new customers in a global market.

As head of sales, you’ll be responsible for forecasting, providing visibility on the sales pipeline and identifying and managing risks. From your previous employment, you’ll have experience under your belt in a senior sales management role within a similar precision engineering business, in which you successfully managed a sales team. You’ll also have a good understanding of special purpose machinery, including mechanical, electrical and software architecture.

You’ll be proactive in liaising with customers to capture and refine their requirements, then managing quotes, budgets, the development of compliant solutions, project scheduling and more. Building and maintaining relationships with customers through exemplary customer service skill will be key, as will your relationships with suppliers and trade organisations.

Leading on the marketing activities, your tasks will include attending and presenting at high-profile trade shows and conferences, as well as securing trade awards and directing on website updates, social media and news releases. Management of the sales and customer support teams will also be crucial, working with them to define sales targets, as well as measuring and reporting on those targets.

A good understanding of estimating machine build costs, an excellent track record of improving and maintaining sales performance and a strong understanding of the communication disciplines are a must for our head of sales role. You’ll be educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
