Commissioning engineer

Sewtec is seeking a commissioning engineer in Yorkshire to join our global-leading bespoke automation solutions company

Reporting to our assembly manager, you’ll work across the mechanical, electrical and software engineering teams and take responsibility for building and commissioning new bespoke projects. Whilst adhering to customer and on-site requirements, preparing, configuring and installing machinery will be a huge part of your day-to-day role.

As commissioning engineer, you’ll provide on-site technical assistance and support to our customers, acting as a liaison between our internal project team and clients. You’ll deliver customer support and basic training to new and existing customers and assist customers to solve technical issues with bespoke automation solutions ensuring technical scope is managed.

To ensure all our project builds are of the highest standard, being able to accurately read and interpret engineering assembly drawings is essential. If any problem arise, you’ll have a working understanding of a range of products to effectively troubleshoot issues, replicate problematic behaviour and implement fixes.

With previous experience gained in a similar precision engineering position, delivering special purpose machinery from scratch will be second nature to you. You’ll possess a good understanding of mechanical, electrical and software design and have a working experience of configuration and program modification of automation equipment (such as Allen Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens S5 and S7).

You’ll be a commissioning engineer who has experience of working within a multi–skilled environment, including knowledge of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic components. Evaluating mechanical and technical requirements and providing viable and innovative solutions will also be on your to-do list.

At Sewtec, no two days are the same.  Having a real can-do attitude and being enthusiastic about getting stuck into creating bespoke automation solutions are a must and you’ll always be up for a challenge. Communication is key in this role, so you’ll be confident in speaking to our team and our clients to offer solutions to precision engineering conundrums, and always demonstrate respect, integrity, trust and excellence in all your interactions
