Sewtec Nominated for ‘The Planet Saver’ Chamber of Commerce Award

This award recognises businesses that hold sustainability close to their hearts, with the aim to select the ‘Green Business of the Year’.

The BCC’s annual Chamber Business Awards are considered one of the UK’s most prestigious business awards, with hundreds of high-performing companies put forward every year for the specialist categories, all competing for the coveted National Chamber Business Awards.

Sewtec has been selected to be shortlisted out of over 500 chamber members, specifically due to our extensive work in modernisation and upgrades. Our expert engineers can strip out obsolete parts of old machines, replacing and upgrading the control system, to get what was previously an old, outdated machine running like new again. This not only ensures that less waste goes into landfill, but also means that our customers end up using less energy due to better efficiency, and thus reducing their carbon footprint.

We also develop innovative systems to reduce over-packaging, helping our customers cut back on unnecessary waste but also their reliance on plastic packaging; opting for alternatives that are easily recyclable, and significantly more sustainable.

However, we don’t simply focus on sustainability just for our customers. Here at Sewtec, we’re constantly striving to make our own business as sustainable as possible too, with many great advancements already underway. Our headquarters at Automation House run on 100% renewable energy, and we also support the innovative future of electric cars with multiple charging points for employees and visitors alike, just to name a few for the things we’re doing to make ourselves more sustainable.
